- Never out anyone
Don't name, describe or photograph someone in a way that could reveal their sexuality, gender identity or HIV status. That includes people in the background of your photos.
- No home addresses, workplaces or phone numbers
Not yours, not anyone else's. Venues can list their public address and number; people can't.
- Report what happened, not who you think did it
Safety reports describe a place and a time: "Two men shouted at us outside the station at 1am." Don't accuse named or identifiable people.
- Be kind
No harassment, slurs, threats or hate, including against any part of the LGBTQ+ community. Disagree with the post, not the person.
- Only post photos you have consent for
Ask people before they end up in your photo, and leave them out if you can't.
- Be honest
Review places you've actually been. Don't post fake reports to lift or sink a neighbourhood or a venue, and don't review your own business.
- No selling, no sex work ads
Businesses promote themselves through business listings, which are always labelled. Don't advertise in posts or comments.
- Anonymous isn't unaccountable
Anonymous posts hide your name from other people, not from our moderators. The same rules apply.
How moderation works
Every new post, comment, review and safety report is checked automatically for abuse, doxxing and spam. Anything flagged is hidden until a moderator looks at it. You can report anything you see from inside the app, for example as outing, harassment or spam.
If we remove something you posted, we tell you why. Repeated or serious breaks can lead to a suspension or a permanent ban. You can appeal by emailing moderation@rainbowie.app.
If you're in danger
RainBowie can't send help. Call local emergency services. Your trip shows local emergency numbers and LGBTQ+ helplines, and they work offline.
